Fidali's Way Selected by The Mystery Bookstore of LA as #2 on its Top Ten Books of 2009 List!

The Mystery Bookstore, an old landmark of Los Angeles independent booksellers, has selected Fidali's Way as the #2 novel of the year according to the manager's Top Ten List of 2009!  Mystery Bookstore is located at 1036-C Broxton Ave., Los Angeles, 90024.        

Fidali's Way also made #20 on Diesel Bookstore's "Top 50 Best Sellers List" for 2009!  The Brentwood branch of Diesel Books is located at the Brentwood Country Mart, 225 26th Street, Suite 33, Santa Monica, CA, 90402.

Fidali's Way is available in Scribner Hardback in bookstores and online starting January 6, 2009.   

 

The Dutch translation of Fidali's Way shall be available from Dutch publisher De Fontein online and in bookstores in Holland in 2009 under the title "Trannen over Kashmir."

 

 
George Mastras Nominated for WGA Award for Breaking Bad
George Mastras was nominated for a WGA Award by the Writers Guild of America along with the writing staff of AMC's Emmy Award Winning Dramatic Series "Breaking Bad" (created by screenwriter and executive producer Vince Gilligan), where George serves as a writer and executive story editor.  Breaking Bad was nominated in the category of Best New Series for 2008.  The critically acclaimed series is a darkly comedic drama about a struggling high school chemistry teacher who turns to cooking crystal meth when he discovers he has terminal lung cancer and needs to provide financial security for his handicapped son and pregrant wife.  Winners will be announced in simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York on February 7.  
 
George Mastras Donates Fidali's Way to Operation Warrior Library
George Mastras and his publisher, Scribner, have donated a box of new Fidali's Way books, signed by George, to Operation Warrior Library, an organization established by author Paul Malmont (The Chinatown Death Cloud Peril) and Audrey Malmont in conjunction with the United States Army.  Operation Warrior Library provides our troops deployed overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq with recently published and best-selling works of fiction for their entertainment.  If you are an author and interested in donating your books to our men and women in uniform overseas, or a reader who would like to encourage your favorite author to donate books, please check out http://paulmalmont.com/warrior-library/ for more information on this worthy organization.
