"Fidali's Way" author George Mastras was nominated for the 2010 Edgar Allen Poe Award for his teleplay of Breaking Bad (season 2) entitled "Grilled." The Mystery Writers of America announced the list of Edgar nominees on January 19th, the famous author's birthday. Winners will be announced at the Edgars Awards Ceremony on April 29th in New York City. Mastras's Edgar nominated episode "Grilled" was also selected by the editors of Entertainment Weekly to be among the Top Ten Best Television Episodes of 2009. EW columnist and master of suspense Stephen King called "Breaking Bad" the best written show on television, citing Mastras's "Grilled" as "a case in point," comparing the episode to "watching No 'Country for Old Men' crossbred with the malevolent spirit of the original 'Texas Chain Saw Massacre.'" |
